The one about who you miss right now...
“I’m writing this at 3:30 a.m. while in my fourth trimester... Being a mom to young kids during a pandemic is hard. Not the momming part per se, that always has its moments, but the part where the people you love don't see your kids. They don't see the way your first born, who was your baby until a few weeks ago, has suddenly morphed into a big kid. They don't know the feeling of holding or snuggling your baby, or inhaling her newborn smell. They don't know the little coos she makes or the calm she brings. The people you love don't get to witness the metamorphosis happening in your family, as three become four. As your love grows dramatically. As you adjust to new normals. They don't get to watch, in awe, as your new big kid falls deeply in love with being a big brother. They don't see the day to day or week to week changes. Your village changes. It becomes smaller than you ever imagined. You worry about your kids not forming those early bonds with grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends - bonds that are so important. And you worry about missing out on forming those bonds with your own nieces and nephews, and your best friends' kids. It’s hard when the people you love don't get to see and know your kids. So, in the meantime, I will over-post pictures (with sappy captions) because that's where I'm at. It's all just an attempt to share my pride and joy, with the hopes you see these amazing little beings we have growing over here. They are pure magic.”
